North Somerset Council has launched a a number of consultations on new ambitious strategies for some of its services.
The brings together a group of consultations about services which you may use regularly.
I’d like to encourage residents in Yatton, Claverham, Kingston Seymour and Kenn to take part in the consultation and engagement by filling in the online surveys
or by coming along to the engagement session at Yatton Library on 18th March (see below) to tell the council about your neighbourhood and the ideas you have about your local area.
Details of how to take part can be found at: www.n-somerset.gov.uk/yourneighbourhood
The Council has chosen to group these consultations together so that we can understand the bigger picture for your neighbourhood as well as showing how each proposal or strategy works on its own.
We need your views to shape what comes next in these services. They are:
- Leisure and sports centres
- Street cleansing
- Parks & open spaces, and
- Garden waste
and stakeholders to create effective partnerships, pool resources where possible and take advantage of income generation opportunities to make valued services as efficient and sustainable as possible.
The consultations close on Thursday 7th May.
If you are able, please come along to the public engagement session at Yatton Library on 18th March (6:00pm start) to learn more about the consultations and share your views. I will attend the event myself and council officers will also be present. Refreshments will be provided.
Like many new councillors, I was elected on an openness and transparency platform. We are committed to genuinely engaging with as many residents as we can to inform decisions about future-proofing council services.
