North Somerset Council is co-ordinating the deliveries of PPE from government into the Avon and Somerset area.
The Council has a process in place to get feedback from care providers and we track needs daily so that fresh supplies can be targeted at those most in need – i.e. with 72 hours of PPE left. While there is enough, stocks are arriving “just in time”, which is challenging for all our staff and providers working across our community settings.
It remains a challenging area and we continue to press for more reliable supplies to ensure vulnerable residents and care workers are protected.

The council had an excellent response to the plea to businesses for urgently needed PPE for care workers. Items donated include hand sanitiser, nitrile gloves and handmade masks and aprons. Thank you. Please keep them coming and help save lives.
If any businesses want to contribute PPE they should contact the council at care.connect@n-somerset.gov.uk or 01275 888 801.
